Biography and Credentials:
Susan Pulling is the Director of Nutritionconsulting.com and a Registered Dietitian dedicated to treating persons with Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Compulsive Overeating and Weight Concerns in New York, USA Susan is a Certified Dietitian/Nutritionist in New York State.

Susan graduated from SUNY Oneonta in 1985 with a BS in Home Economics Dietetics with Honors. Her Minor was in Business Management. Upon graduation, she was accepted into a very competitive Coordinated Masters Internship Program at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in the Bronx and New York University. This program had six students for 17 months and was hospital experience guided one on one by a Registered Dietitian with Specialty in each area of Nutrition. In addition, there was a full complement of courses at New York University to obtain the degree of Master of Science in Human Nutrition. There was a research aspect to the training that afforded Susan the opportunity to work alongside renowned scientists at Sloan Kettering Cancer Center's Nutrition Research Laboratory. The science of nutrition has always been a driving force in Susan's interest in working with people as that science is applied to people with unique needs.

In 1987, Susan earned a Master's Degree in Nutrition from New York University. She was then approved to sit for the American Dietetic Association's Registered Dietitian Examination. Taking and Passing this examination is the culminating experience in training to be a dietitian. Upon passing the exam, Susan was then accredited by the American Dietetic Association as a Registered Dietitian. All of the training, from SUNY Oneonta through the 17 month long internship and Master's Degree Program were requirements to obtain this credential.

To maintain the certification, it is incumbent on each R.D. to continue their education with 75 hours of approved study every five years. Susan has held certifications in Nutrition Support (CNSD 1987-1992), Adult Weight Management (2001-Present) and taken courses including a Pharmacy/Medication Course for Physicians and Pharmacists, Medical Therapy using Nutrition for individuals with various disease states, and courses on working with different populations to achieve nutrition goals. She is in her fifth continuing education period and has been working on various subjects to learn any new information that she can apply to her practice. She also subscribes to daily updates from both the nutrition and medical communities to follow current research as it occurs. She also subscribes to several periodicals which provide current information in the fields of Nutrition and also the use of technology in Nutrition.

Since then, she has worked in community hospitals and psychiatric hospitals providing nutrition assessments, intervention and counseling to patients with all medical problems. Her experience in the medical field allows her to use her knowledge of foods and nutrition to make individualized plans to meet clients goals. She has such an array of experiences to draw upon, that she can easily manage the most difficult diets and dietary preferences.

She began a private practice for the treatment of eating disorders and weight management in 1991 and continues to work in the office and online to provide nutrition information and support for a large number of individuals. The individual is the most important aspect in planning the diet and care.

In 2002, Susan expanded her practice to include all types of Medical Nutrition Therapy (work with people who have medical problems that can be improved with nutrition). This includes but is not limited to :
