These help to illustrate the philosophy of the program:

Some ways to manage gaining and maintaining weight with anorexia with nutritional intervention:

Eat meals and snacks frequently during the day to meet your nutritional needs. Your stomach is empty about 3 hours after your last meal.

Try cold foods and finger foods-- they are less filling and easier to eat.

Schedule meals and snacks--especially when your routine changes

Drink juices or milk between meals rather than filling up on fluids at mealtime.

Remember that you need to eat to nourish your body-- use positive affirmations during meals and throughout the day to help you remember this.

Remind yourself that your body requires a certain amount of fat from foods daily. Fat from foods isn't the same as body fat.

Avoid carbonated beverages, the carbonation can make you feel bloated and uncomfortable.

Limit caffeine, it can interfere with your body's natural feelings of hunger and make it harder for you to eat your meals.

Don't discuss upsetting topics while eating. Make mealtime as positive an experience as possible

Avoid excessive exercise while you are trying to maintain or gain weight
