Anorexia Nervosa
Initial session: The initial
nutritional assessment requires that the individual get a complete physical
from his or her personal physician and that information is forwarded directly
to Nutritionconsulting.com via mail for evaluation. In addition the physician
may be contacted by telephone to discuss the medical condition. The assessment
will also include a complete phone interview and a self assessment questionnaire.
The phone interview will include: the history of the eating disorder, current
symptoms of the eating disorder , a comprehensive food frequency or diet
recall, medical history, and weight history.
Follow up sessions: During the second session, the results, conclusions and recommendations will be discussed and a plan will be developed. Subsequent sessions are planned for each individual to meet specific goals and objectives. Patients are frequently asked to keep records, email the dietitian to with questions or to notify the dietitian about goal completion, and to do activities designed to assist in them in meeting their goals.
Goals: The goal of nutrition intervention is to restore or maintain weight, encourage adequate intake, begin to enhance the variety of the foods eaten, to encourage the individual to more accurately respond to their level of hunger, to assist in making a level of activity that more closely meets the individuals level of health, to lessen eating disordered symptoms, and facilitate improvement in individuals sense of well being through adequate nutrition.
Requirements: In order to participate in treatment, the patient must sign consent for dietitian to discuss their care with their psychotherapist, and physician on an ongoing basis. The patient must be weighed every two weeks at the physicians or psychotherapist's office. Patients who do not meet criteria for outpatient intervention will be referred back to their psychotherapist, and/or physician for admission to a hospital or intensive treatment program
Bulima Nervosa

via mail for evaluation. The assessment will include a complete phone interview
and a self assessment questionnaire. The phone interview will include: the
history of the compulsive overeating, current symptoms of the overeating
, a comprehensive food frequency or diet recall, medical history, and weight
history.
Follow up sessions: During the second session, the results, conclusions and recommendations will be discussed and a plan will be developed. Subsequent sessions are planned for each individual to meet specific goals and objectives. Clients are frequently asked to keep records, email the dietitian to with questions or to notify the dietitian about goal completion, and to do activities designed to assist in acheiving the goals.
Goals: The goal of nutrition intervention is to assist in weight maintenance or loss, encourage nutritious intake, to encourage an activity level to maximize health (as allowed by physician), to lessen overeating, to encourage the individual to respond accurately to their level of hunger, to stop eating when they are satisfied and facilitate improvement in individuals sense of well being through adequate nutrition.
Requirements: In order to participate in treatment, the client may be asked to
sign consent for dietitian to discuss their care with their psychotherapist,
and/or physician as needed. Patients may be asked to have ongoing medical
evaluation for specific monitoring of medical issues.
